“Our company supplies a wide variety of houseware products to retailers in Bulgaria and its neighbouring countries such as Greece, Macedonia and Romania. Apart from the wholesale business, we operate seven houseware stores and an online store in Bulgaria. It is our first time visiting the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. We are looking for bathroom accessories, kitchenware, tableware and cleaning products which come with good quality and reasonable prices. We have met with more than 200 suppliers and collected their catalogues. Through the HKTDC’s business matching service, we have found two potential suppliers of electronic appliances such as deep fryers, so we’ll check their products first. The Hong Kong Houseware Fair is a good show. We’ll come again next year.”
Kiril Kirchev, Brand Manager, Reno Bulgaria Ltd, Bulgaria
“Isetan is a leading department store in Japan. It’s my first-time visit to the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. It is a huge fair where I can see a lot of home products all under one roof. At this fair, I have found some interesting products for our Children’s Division such as children’s tableware, silicone cooking sets and eco-friendly tableware. The prices and designs of these products are good, I’ll have further negotiations with these suppliers before placing orders.”
Anna Suenaga, Buyer, Children’s Division, Isetan Mitsukoshi Ltd., Japan

“Queen Anne specialises in silver-plated tableware, with the Far East and the Middle East our major markets. All our products are made in the UK. Currently, we have distributors in 15 countries and regions. We want to look for distributors in the Asian countries which are not yet covered. That’s why we have participated at the Hong Kong Houseware Fair for the third time. The fair attracts many buyers from the Asia-Pacific region. The responses from buyers have been good. We have met with buyers from many places such as Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Nigeria and the UAE. We are happy that we have confirmed our partnership with a Japanese company which has just placed orders for our tableware.”
Gary Sadler, Commercial Manager, Queen Anne Tableware Ltd, the UK
“We are pleased to announce the worldwide launch of RoboMop Allegro at the Hong Kong Houseware Fair. RoboMop Allegro is a worldwide patented robotic floor duster which is user-friendly and comes with replaceable batteries and a microfibre washable pad. This new model is 30 per cent cheaper than our old model, making it more attractive to buyers especially in this region. We are keen to look for distributors at this fair. We are happy to see that our product demonstration and promotional video have attracted a lot of interests from buyers. Many buyers visited our booth and made enquiries. So far, we have met with more than 100 new buyers from Asia, Europe and the US who are our potential distributors.”

“Invest-Line is an importer of fabrics for bedding in Poland. Our customers are mainly bedding and home textiles manufacturers in Poland and Ukraine. We are now sourcing from the Chinese mainland and would like to find new suppliers from India and Pakistan. I am visiting the Hong Kong fair for the first time and it has proved to be a rewarding trip. I’ve found at least five suppliers from India. Further talks will be held to conclude details of agreements. I expect to place orders with the new suppliers for fabrics later on. I like the fair very much. The exhibitors are very professional and knowledgeable. The networking cocktail in the evening has been wonderful and it allowed everyone to have a good time after a long day of hectic work.”
Krzysztof Nowak, Partner, Invest-Line Sp. Z.O.O., Poland
“Melinh Plaza currently runs two hypermarkets selling a wide range of products from building materials, electrical appliances to household and home textile items in Vietnam. The company is a division of the Eurowindow Group, a conglomerate with businesses ranging from real estate development, civil construction, building materials to banking activities. This is our first-time visit to the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair. I am very happy with what I’ve got from the exhibition. I am now in talks with two new Indian suppliers of rugs and the potential orders will involve more than 20 items in different sizes and dimensions. I’ve also established contacts with some exhibitors in the Houseware Fair and will consider placing orders for tableware, cookware and vaccum boxes. It is a smart idea to run the two fairs concurrently, allowing everyone to find different things and do business in one location.”
Le Phuong Linh, Import-Export Manager, Melinh Plaza, Vietnam

“J-Tex specialises in the production of bedding and home textiles products under licenced brands such as Disney, Snoopy, Polo and Hallmark. We have also developed our own brands J-Max and PoloTex. In recent years, our business has expanded further with the launch of luggage and bag collections. We have been participating in the fair for many years. Our highlight for this year is to launch our newly-developed lyocell bedding series that offers extra comfort to consumers. We have got positive feedback from visitors including potential customers from the Chinese mainland. We expect to negotiate further with some of the mainland customers for cooperation, particularly in franchise operations to sell our products. This is a very meaningful trade event for the industry to get customers and exchange ideas. That’s why we have been always here to raise our profile.”
Helen Ma, Operation Assistant, J-Tex (H.K.) Co., Ltd., Hong Kong
“In business for 20 years, we are actively expanding our export sales leveraging on our deep knowledge in the home textile industry and strong production capability. We’ve developed our own brand Dinosaur. Last year, we made our debut exhibition in the Hong Kong fair and yielded encouraging results. Business contracts were concluded with three customers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Israel. We are coming here again this year to promote our functional pillows, premium bed linens targetting the hotel market and to market our great variety of prints and patterns in particular. The responses have been even better than last year. We’ve received keen interest from buyers from Southeast Asia including Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as those from Europe and the USA. I am confident of getting better results through the exhibition.”
Paul Gao, Purchase/Trading Manager, Shanghai Konglong Textile Ornaments Co., Ltd., Chinese mainland
